Sam Stern

Founder and lead facilitator of Journeys to Remember, Sam has over twenty-five years of experience working in the areas of organisational development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), team effectiveness, leadership development, psychosocial wellness, and youth development.

Sam grew up in the UK and then lived, studied and worked in the USA before moving to South Africa 28 years ago. Through her work with diverse people and organisations, Sam discovered her love for building bridges between people, places and ideologies.  And through her own ongoing personal journey she was drawn to creating spaces for self-discovery.  Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a Master’s degree in International Affairs.  She is a certified facilitator and coach and has completed a range of courses in process-oriented facilitation (process work), managing social change and working with complex systems.

A Nia dance technique white belt and snorkelling enthusiast, Sam relishes the peace and freedom that come from being in rhythm and flow!  Sam is also a woman in midlife and the proud mum of a young adult who teaches her more about herself each day!
