Who: Women of all ages and backgrounds who are ready to pause and reconnect – to themselves, each other and nature. No experience is needed in dance, yoga, meditation, breathwork or art – just a willingness to be curious and open!

About the Venue:
Shengwedzi Exclusive Retreat is a charming 10 acre weekend hideaway situated at the foot of the northern side of the Magaliesberg in the Buffelspoort Valley. The original thatched roofed farmhouse, built in the 1920’s, with its three surrounding cottages and rondavel, offer a perfect escape for a weekend retreat.

About the Facilitators:

Samantha (Sam) Stern brings over twenty-five years of experience in guiding individuals and groups through transformative journeys of growth, connection and renewal. As the founder of Journeys to Remember, Sam designs experiences that invite reflection, reconnection and rediscovery – all aimed at helping people return to a deeper sense of wholeness.

Originally from the UK, Sam has lived in South Africa since 1998, with her work taking her across Africa, Europe and North America. She holds degrees in Psychology and International Affairs, is a certified facilitator, and has trained in a variety of approaches to adult learning, mindfulness, psychosocial wellness and personal transformation.

At retreats, Sam guides participants with warmth, compassion and creativity to journey inward, reconnect with their bodies and rediscover their individual and collective wisdom.

A certified Nia dance technique white belt, Sam delights in the joy of movement and the freedom it brings. She’s also a lover of nature, a midlife adventurer and a proud mum of a young adult who continues to inspire her journey every day.

Lungile Zakwe is a mindfulness teacher, ISHTA yoga facilitator, coach, and group facilitator. She guides yoga, meditation, breathwork, and sensory awareness practices that support women in reconnecting with their bodies and inner wisdom.

Alongside her wellness practice, Lungile brings over two decades of leadership experience in the social justice space, spanning the public health and education sectors. She has led national and international initiatives advancing equity, wellbeing, and access: experience that shapes her holistic, people-centered approach. At retreats, she weaves together movement, mindfulness, and facilitation skills to create nurturing spaces for reflection, growth, and renewal.

Beyond her professional work, she is also a devoted lover of cats, dogs and plants — a fun fact that reflects her playful, compassionate spirit both on and off the mat.
